I have two computers, one with XP and one with Vista. I use Charter.net e-mail. When I have Avast Online Security Add-Ons enabled, I cannot load my e-mail page. I can log in ok, but when it advances to the e-mail page I just have a blank grey screen that says Charter E-Mail in the upper left corner. If I disable the Add-on, the e-mail comes up fine on both computers. Anyone experience this, and is it necessary to have the Online Security Add-on enabled for security while on e-mail? Thanks for any help.
The avast! online security add-on has plenty of issues.
I recommend you disable it until all of it problems are resolved.
It does not affect your protection since the Web Shield scans all HTTP traffic and does the malicious blocking.
WOT (Web of Trust) is a good alternative until all the bugs are [hopefully] ironed out of AOS.
