Avast online security chrome extension

My domain is marked as “unsafe” and I would like to get in contact with someone who can tell me how to resolve this.

virustotal reports my site as 0/61 clean.

Hi exww,

There could be as many reasons for this as one could think of - general IP malware block for abusing domains that share the same IP, running nameservers like afraid dot org that are by default being blocked by avast as malicious. Also malscript that is missed by other scanners (via apps of a cloudflare site for instance) and the occasional FP. But without knowing the website we cannot comment or point out any insecurities for CMS or the server configuration the website is being hosted on.
You can report here: https://www.avast.com/contact-form.php
Well do a check here: http://cyh.herokuapp.com/cyh and you see loads and loads of websites are hosted without applying “best security policies” and that is only for starters. Website security is often a last resort issue. Through ten years of third party website security scanning I am firmly convinced of these facts. ;D

The main website is html only, the nameservers are cloudflare so I don’t think that’s a problem.

Since the domain and all subdomains are reported as unsafe, I am guessing its due to one of the subdomains, we do give free webhosting to all of our clients as a bonus feature so it might be that.

Can I PM you the website name?

Hi exww,

Yes, but I can only give you an estimated guess as the real reasons behind a blacklisting/blocking are only known to avast! team members, and they are the ones that should unblock the domain/website. It is not the first time cyber-criminals abuse CloudFlare.
Avast website web rep and webshield detection is known to be rather accurate, but of course it is not totally free of false positives either.

I can’t send a pm, I am guessing I need to be a member for some period of time. Maybe you can pm me and I can reply to you.

I don’t care if its a false positive or not, I just need to resolve it ASAP.

have you tried report it here? https://support.avast.com/

I did submit a ticket and called them, they take 2-3 weeks to reply according to phone rep.
