very strange, whenever i have the avast webrep add on enabled in Firefox it automatically opens up my navigation bar. i keep it closed unless i use it which i rarely do as i have all my sites bookmarked. but EVERY TIME i have it enabled it opens it automatically. i have tried uninstalling both firefox and avast numerous times with no luck. i have tried moving the icon to different areas, no luck. in fact, every time i remove the icon it reappears again. this seems to have started since i have been using avast 9, i do not believe this was happening with avast 8. whenever i disable avast online security it does not happen again. below is a link to a YouTube video i made which shows it.

As far as I’m aware the default location is to the right of the navigation bar (since avast 9 as far as I’m aware), so if it is enabled then it will be on that bar when you do use it.

There are no user settings in relation to if it should be displayed on the navigation bar, some have tried, but it can’t be moved to a different location. When you close and reopen firefox, it is back to the default location to the right of the navigation bar.

It is no longer the WebRep, but the avast online security (add-on).

EDIT: So it not only has a default location but by your video when enabled, the avast online security will open the navigation bar if you had that deselected.

Since the avast!Security resides on the Navigation Toolbar, and, since it’s active, it’s going to display that toolbar when you open the browser.
Once the browser is open, you can always click on View > Toll bars and uncheck the Navigation Toolbar.
It will remain invisible till you restart the browser.
Without the navigation toolbar, it’s .a little hard to enter a web address or do a search ???

Yeah. I am having the same problem. I just disabled the addon in Firefox instead of uninstalling avast! or Firefox. So far I’ve not had any problems. I use Web of Trust with my Firefox now and another addon that’s called SafePreview. It lets you look at the rating of a website from multiple sources before you click on a link. I hate it though that I can’t just reposition the avast! addon to where I want it. It’s kind of stupid that we can’t do that. I have my navigation bar in the title bar (with the personal titlebar addon) and I would like to put my avast up there too, but I can’t. It makes me sad :frowning:

Oh well. I hope they fix this because it’s annoying enough for me to have just disabled it.

What Problem ???
