Avast Online Security

Since there is no designated place to raise an issue with Avast Online Security, I raise it here.

If you use Internet Explorer and have a display screen less then 800 pixels along the vertical, it is impossible to change Avast Online Security settings for Internet Explorer. The Online Security window is neither movable nor resizable. Doesn’t Avast test its product UIs?

Ofcourse they test it as well as the beta testers.
But who is using X x 800 or less anyway?

My netbook is even smaller it is 600 pixels in height - Acer Aspire One, Win7 Starter (32bit) 10.1", 1024X600 screen. Fortunately I don’t use IE and I don’t know if the same settings would be in the avast free version.

Avast people have done all that work to make Online Security into a useful utility but the user is prevented by the UI from changing or verifying settings. The part of the UI window which must be clicked if the settings are to be accessed is somewhere south of the task bar, probably under the display screen lower horizontal bezel. It’s out of reach.

Plenty of laptop display screens have a height of 768 pixels, my Sony VAIO for example. It’s a de facto standard. Since I am unable to manage Avast Online Security on IE11, I have no choice but to disable it which is a shame because it has desirable features.

I have that exact same problem on my laptop. Any resolution? Thanks.

Hello

We are sorry. We know about the problem. The fix will be part of some more UI improvements in plugin GUI. I hope it will be part of 2015 R2 release which is going to be in beta channel very soon.

Me!
1024 x 768 is perfect on my 15" IBM LCD and my Windows 7 netbook is a “whopping” 1024 x 600.
