This amounts to a full screen ad and I am angry about it. It’s bad enough I get misleading popups and such, but this is yet another step in the wrong direction.
It happened again. This time in a virtual machine. Upon starting the browser, a new tab spawns front and center taking it to the “Avast Online Security & Privacy” plugin for Firefox.
If anything, this makes me want to give Avast money even less. This bullshit actively makes me dislike Avast.
Firefox is my default browser and I certainly haven seen it.
Then again:
A. I don’t often close Firefox, outside of browser version updates.
B. I have Firefox fairly well buttoned down, security wise, presumably that would impact unwanted ads.
C. I don’t use the Avast Online Security & Privacy, so if this were Avast initiated (and I don’t know how that would be done), I would be a candidate for this ad.
D. I don’t know what Mozilla’s policy would be towards ads unwanted or otherwise.
