Avast Outlook 2007 Addon Issue

Hi All,

I’m using Avast! Home Edition since last 5 years. And It was working fine.
Since last 7-8 months when I start Outlook 2007, outlook menu items and toolbar become disabled.
If I disable Avast! outlook add-in every thing returns normal.

I ready upgraded to Avast! v5.0.462 but issue still persist.

Any ideas?

I’m seeing the same issue - Doesn’t seem to matter which OS - Windows 7, XP Pro, XP home - all have the issue. I never had this issue with 4.8. Now it is a daily occurrence. I have also noticed that when closing outlook, sometimes can’t start it. I have to kill outlook.exe process. Then outlook 2007 starts, but the avast! antispam addon is disabled. I’ve got this on a clients pc’s and I don’t want to constantly monitor their machines for this issue…bad enough I have to do it for my own machine. I’ve searched the forum for solutions, but haven’t seen any resolution.

  1. Does this happen with 4.8 or 5.0? Free, Pro or AIS?
  2. Have you tried to “Repair” or Uninstall - Clear - Install Avast?

I’m haveing the same problem. I am using AIS 5.0. It is very frustrating.

ok. have you got a screenshot? also could you post your asoutext.log file? This one is located in d:\documents and settings\all users\application data\alwil software\avast 5\logs
There is another thread where people claim that their toolbar disappears. I would like to see whether this is a separate issue or if these are related
