Avast "oxymoron" (Free Version)

Avast Free
Program Version: 2014.9.0.2021
Virus Def…: 140729-0
No of def’s…: 2371818

Avast “Complete Scan” finished and showed “THREAT DETECTED”.
When I clicked the “Show Results” button, nothing happened.
When I viewed “Scan Logs” the entry for this scan shows “no virus found”.

Is this a false positive!

I use the free version (home user) and this post is more to inform Avast
of this issue. I don’t suspect a problem but perhaps this minor issue can
be put into the ‘sometime to fix’ box?

It’s a known problem. The UI intermittently pops open inappropriately at the end of a scheduled scan and sometimes says “THREAT DETECTED!”.

Use the Scan History link at the bottom of the Scan panel. If the “Result” column for the scan in question shows “no virus found” you’re safe.

It’s fondly hoped that the next update will fix this.

I have this same problem. It has happened 3 or 4 times within the last month, most recently today. I keep everything updated, so I fervently hope the next release fixes this problem. Thank you.

Well, click on the show results to see what was (supposedly) detected…
