Avast Paid Versions Question

I am thinking of getting avast internet security but i am wondering is it possible to get it for 2 Computers instead of 1? Also how does avast Internet Security compare to avast free?

Whatever you want here: http://www.avast.com/en-ca/internet-security :wink:

Why don’t it offer it for 2 PCs?

Perhaps you can try this link for Customer Support and ask them https://support.avast.com/Tickets/Submit since you are a current user and would be upgrading 1 machine anyway.

BTW, is your Signature incorrect or are you using an outdated version of Avast? Same with your version of FF.

I’ll contact them when i get ready for the internet security version which will be kinda soon, Bookmarked this topic for when i am ready to upgrade from free to a paid version.

Also thanks for telling me of my out dated signature, I haven’t been on the forum in a while so hadn’t had a chance to update it.

How does the avast internet security compare to the windows firewall? I’ve never used any firewall besides the windows firewall ever. But since I am thinking of buying an avast internet security 1yr license key, I am now wondering about it…

With AIS you get secure DNS (from the new beta onwards ) https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=153511.0

Is the avast firewall more secure then the windows firewall?

An inside tip :wink:

It is allowed to use a paid Avast! licence on systems you don’t own, as long as it not used on more systems that you paid for :slight_smile:

Greetz, Red.

What do you mean?

That you can share a paid Avast! licence if you want :slight_smile:

Greetz, Red.

I don’t think he wants to pay for a 3 user license and give one away.
He’s looking for a price that’s less than the 3 user license since he only needs to use it on 2 computers.

I thought that you could customise the purchase for A) X years or B) X PCs - whilst it is generally initially 1 PC for 1 year or 3 PCs for 1 year.

I believe you should be able to set it up for 2 PCs for 1 year. But you may have to do that from outside the User Interface ‘Upgrade’ option. I though I found a way of backing out of the ‘Upgrade’ offer screen by 'X’ing out the window, but that only gives options of 1, 3, 5, 10 PCs

That said, the 3 PCs for one year license may actually work out cheaper than 2 PCs for 1 year as it is usually discounted. Currently there is an offer in the avast! UI which, is quite attractive (save up to 66%) 9.99 instead of 29.99 - that is for AIS 3PCs for 1 year as far as I can see.

@David,
There is no 2 PC option. :slight_smile:

Yes I see that now, I didn’t have time to fully check it out earlier. Personally this is more likely to turn people away from a purchase. If you purchase directly from avast.com rather than Upgrade from the avast free UI, it is way more expensive.

Taking advantage of the Upgrade from the avast free UI (up to 66% off) is a much better option, even if you don’t need a third license.

Is it possible to get a paid version without auto renewal?

You need to uncheck autorenewal there should be a link in the licence e-mail. The part I have marked in red should be a link to the page where you cancel it

Auto-Renewal Plan Terms

By completing your purchase, you have authorized Digital River to automatically renew your purchased license for successive renewal terms equal in length to your initial license term but no longer than 1 year, at the then-current renewal license price (plus applicable taxes) using your payment information provided for your initial purchase, until you cancel.

At least one email will be sent to you to remind you of each upcoming renewal. The Digital River Terms of Sale and Privacy Policy will apply to each renewal transaction. You also agree that Digital River may, upon notice to you, transfer your responsibility for the processing of renewals of your purchased license under the Auto-Renewal Plan to Avast Software a.s. (“Avast”), in which case Digital River will transfer your billing information to Avast or their payment processor, and Avast’s terms of sale and privacy policy provided to you in Avast’s reminder email will apply to each renewal transaction.

You may cancel your auto-renewal plan at any time by logging into the My Subscriptions portal (access information are included in this email or on the Customer Service Help page), selecting your product, and selecting the option to disable automatic renewal.

Using the custom install and being careful, also gives you the opportunity to bypass the auto renewal option.
It’s the registration part where you need to be careful. The following video helps you bypass the auto renewal:

Edit:Sorry ::slight_smile: Regarding DavidR’s post #14
That’s why I posted the link, because I went all through it and that’s what’s offered on the official site. :wink: ;D

I know I asked a few already but I want to hear more opinions. Is it safe to run windows firewall along with the avast firewall? I ask this because in the windows 8.1 action center it says running 2 firewalls could cause issues… Is the avast firewall safe to use with the windows one? I’m currently using the avasrt internet security trail at the moment.
