avast password

I forgot my avast password, how can I recover it or get a new password without deinstalling/installing it?

Which operating system are you using?
There’s a way to reset the password but you need to be logged on as an administrator.

I´m using windows xp professional (student version) and am logged in as administrator. avast is updated to build 4.1.342

hey can’t remember avast password either. can you please share how to retrieve it. Im on windows 7 64

You have posted in a topic that isn’t far short of 5 years old and if you had bothered to read the post prior to your’s and the link contained you would have discovered that you will need to reinstall avast.
