Avast Passwords for Firefox refused to be re-added

Hi! Avast passwords no longer can be added to Firefox? When I use the built-in Browser Integration button in the Avast interface itself, it opens up a tab in Firefox that says “redirecting to Chrome store”.
I tried changing the “#chromium” to “#firefox”, but what I got was “Sorry, something went wrong. Please make sure you have the latest Avast Passwords desktop app installed and try again.” I’ve tried updating Avast, reinstalling Avast, etc. Nothing works.

This is the URL that popped up: https://pamcdn.avast.com/pamcdn/extensions/install/win/extension/en.html?p_pei=99PWeMHcUWUtXvmWJOJyMuuYoe3P7fqdnOlcGOij&cn=User%20extension%20install&cs=Settings&lang=en-us#chromium

This is what I see on the browser

Hi, can you PM me the email address you used for Avast passwords, please?

I am getting this problem now, too. I’m using version 78.0.1 (64-bit) of Firefox, just updated my Avast to the most current engine. I had to clear my Firefox because it was having issues displaying Gmail. When I search the add-on/extensions store, there is nothing for Avast Passwords. I clicked on the button to enable it from the browser integration section of the passwords area. I get forwarded to the Chrome store.

same issue here. Latest update from Fierefox installed, passowrds plugin cannot get installed.

Hi,

Could you please try the following:
Take the URL opened in Firefox after adding the extension. Put it in a text editor and replace the “chromium” part at the end with “firefox”. Then copy and paste it back into Firefox address bar.

Hi,
Same problem here.
I can’t take the URL AFTER adding the extension because, when I press “add extention” in Avast browser extensions, i automatically get redirected to this site:

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/avast-passwords/emhginjpijfggbofeediiojmdlmlkoik?p_continue=aHR0cHM6Ly9wYW1jZG4uYXZhc3QuY29tL3BhbWNkbi9leHRlbnNpb25zL2luc3RhbGwvd2luL2V4dGVuc2lvbi9ubC5odG1sP3BfcGVpPUpnUk9QckZ5ZjBaY1ZZeGwzS09tNjdYOEpZRURNQXNkQW55UnlLYW8mY249VXNlciUyMGV4dGVuc2lvbiUyMGluc3RhbGwmY3M9U2V0dGluZ3MmbGFuZz1ubC1ubCNjaHJvbWl1bQ==

I installed the google chrome thinking it might help, but it didn’t.

Hi,

Please paste a screenshot of Browser extensions from your Avast Passwords settings.

Hi,

Please paste a screenshot of Browser extensions from your Avast Passwords settings.

After installation Modzilla Firefox 79.0 (x64nl) at the 29/7 Avast Passwords doesn’t work anymore.
Automatic fill in, doesn’t ask new made paswords to add etc…

Hi,

So if I understand it correctly, you have managed to add the extension in Firefox, however, it is now not working properly.
Could you please click on the Passwords icon in firefox and provide me with a screenshot thereof.

No. I can not add the extention in Firefox. When I press “add extention” I immediately get diverted to Google Chrome webstore.

Instead of clicking on “EXTENSIE TOEVOEGEN” (for firefox), please click on “EXTENSIE OPNIEUW TOEVOEGEN” (for Chrome).
A link (https://pamcdn.avast.com/pamcdn/extensions/install/win/extension/en.html?p_pei=6B5zWlUrO4KuQCuDH3z3PBZXnI5oHBoo8Nxb82On&cn=User%20extension%20install&cs=Settings&lang=en-us#chromium)
should open in chrome. (Please note the code following p_pei=… will be different for you)
Copy that link and paste it into Firefox an change “chromium” to firefox.
You can also try to copy and paste this into Frefox: https://pamcdn.avast.com/pamcdn/extensions/install/win/extension/en.html#firefox

IT WORKS!!! Thanks a million!!
I didn’t get diverted, straight to the Firefox extention.
Great job!
Greetings,
Gino

Thank you for the update and thank you for having persisted.

Hello,

I followed the steps above.

Ok, extension integrated in Firefox but I still don’t see the key icon on the top right…

Ok, problem solved.
Reintegrated extension in Firefox and working.
Thanks.
