When avast update the virus definitions it shows up the green notification pop up and that’s ok. The strange thing is that the voice repeats two times the same sentence “the virus definitions database of avast has been updated”. Two days ago all was normal, avast showed the pop up and the voice said this sentence only one time, as it should be. Why now my avast repeat this vocal message two times? It says this vocal message one time, before the green pop up appears, and then another time, when the green pop up shows up. What’s the problem?
there is already a topic about this…it now has 12 pages so you are a bit late

I have the same issue also - the voice message now comes twice. That there is already a thread about this would be OK if I could find it! Have tried searching under all sorts of terms - what does it come under? A link would have been helpul…
count 8 down from this.
OK - so apparently it is still not resolved? Incidentally, quoting the position of a topic eg. 8 down from this, is not terribly helpful as the position changes when someone else posts a reply…
Which is why I gave you the link.
As had I.
Avast latest version still double sounding updating green popup in windows 7 Ultimate.
Can anyone reply if it’s resolved and how? Thanks

In the current beta which is now being tested, this problem has been resolved.
Once beta testing is finished and it’s released, it will also be resolved for you.
Beta version is stable and available at:

(Beta version of any program should only be used if you’re willing to take the risks involved in beta testing.)

But there is no answer, the thread about this has been locked (for some reason), and the problem still persists even after almost a month of complaints, so we start another thread about it. I just listened to a double announcement that the virus database has been updated on one of my computers.
So, you’re telling us that it’s going to take an entirely new version of Avast to resolve this issue? The programmers can’t find the problem and fix it with an update?
Color me perplexed, -kd5-

It has already been acknowledged and that it will be in the next program update.
If it could have been fixed outside of a program update do you not think that is what they would do. It wouldn’t make sense not to do it in a VPS update it if it could possibly have been resolved in that way.
The current beta testing version aside from the other fixes in this beta is the fix for the VPS update announcements. So as and when the beta testing is done and the program update released, then for those with this issue will have it fixed.
