So avast pops up at seemingly rather random intervals. I can be surfing (and other things too) and all of a sudden avast opens up itself. It´s not that it wants to be updated either (running latest and updated manually).
I need to clarify with the OP. You could be correct, but there could also be a pop-up warning from Avast when you are surfing telling you that the site you are trying to go on is malicious and to get out of here. So I need to clarify and find out what the pop-op said. I’m seeing a lot of this in the Worms and Virus section of the forum these days. So, we’ll have to wait for the OP to return.
I understand SafeSurf, it was just my interpretation of what or how it reads. Have to just wait and see what other information is given. I need to be more patient and not jump the gun on anybody :-X
Have you completly removed all evidence of other av’s that were on your cpu before installing avast? Did you install over any previous edition’s of avast? You can try a repair though add remove programs if you haven’t already.
Yesterday it only popped up when I downloaded some files (in firefox) so I disabled the http module. Ofc it pops up to tell me the http module is disabled, something it hasnt done earlier (probably another version though).
So you did an clean (fresh / new) install of Avast 5.0.594.
You are not using the beta version 5.0.661, are you?
Let me know how you do with your FF status bar. I’ll be here for a while on/off.
