Since a recent Avast upgrade to Premier, the Avast firewall is blocking access to my 192.168.1.xxx addresses. I can’t access my network printer and my network server for backups. After a day of debugging, I traced the problem to PORT SCAN DETECTION in advanced settings for the firewall being turned on. If I tun it off everything runs normally. This is new behavior. I am on Premier version 17.3.2291 (build 17.3.3443.0) and Windows 10 Version 1607 (build 14393.969).
Is anyone else seeing this. I did a search and did not get any useful hits.
Thank you for your reply!
I’ve noticed the same problem on my PC, but the firewall were blocking not only LAN IP-addresses, but some Internet sites.
After unchecking “Enable automatic port scan detection” the problem is solved.
I’m using Avast Internet Security, version 17.3.2291 (build 17.3.3443.0)
Thanks guys. The turning off port scan works as a temporary fix. I am also getting those alerts for programs trying to get to the internet… that never happened before. I’ll look for the “allow automatic port scan” feature. I did not see it under the premier version
I just had a crazy set of AVAST Premier buggy behavior after upgrading from 8 GB to 16 GB (Win 10 1607). Avast went nuts blocking everything including my internet connection. I had to uninstall Premier and fall back to Internet Security. I have run AIS successfully for years… but back in mid-March I got talked into upgrading to premier. I have had problems ever since.
