Hello. I want to permanently disable Avast Firewall. I have selected the ‘Disable Permanently’ option (as opposed to the ‘Disable Until next Reboot’ option). However, after a reboot, the Avast Firewall is enabled again. Most annoying.

How can I stop this please?

I am running Avast Premier 2014.9.2008 on a Windows 7 64bit machine with 6GB of DDR3 RAM and an Intel Core i7 920 CPU.

You could try uninstalling the firewall function.

From the Control Panel > Programs and Features, find avast and select avast Antivirus Now click the Uninstall/Change Button (or right click on the entry). From the new window, select the Change Option, you will see the various avast elements/shields that are installed. Uncheck the Firewall option and OK/Confirm your way out. You will probably be asked to reboot, if you aren’t I would suggest that you do.

You can obviously reverse this process if in future you want to install the firewall element.

Thank you very much. That did the trick.

You’re welcome.
