I just upgraded to Avast Premier. I have a Windows 7 64 bit PC and am running Spybot and Malwarebytes. When I reboot the system “most” of the time I have to start Avast Manually with the Resolve all tab. I never had this problem with Avast Free only since I upgraded to Avast Premier. Please advise. Thanks in advance.
It may be best to try a clean reinstall of avast Premier - given what you say it may indicate some sort of corruption on the upgrade.
You could first try an avast repair:
Windows Control Panel > Programs and features > avast antivirus > Change - when the new window appears select Repair and proceed, reboot after the repair. If that doesn’t work proceed with a clean reinstall.
Download the latest version of avast, 10.0.2208 http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premier_antivirus_setup.exe and save it to your HDD, somewhere you can find it again (if you didn’t save your last download). Use that when you reinstall.
- Download the avast! Uninstall Utility, avastclear.exe http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avastclear.exe and save it to your HDD.
-
- Now uninstall avast! - using add remove programs/Programs & Features, if you can’t do that start from the next step, reboot.- 2. run the avast! Uninstall Utility, it will request it be run from safe mode (and will handle the boot into safe mode), once complete reboot into normal mode.- 3. install the latest version, reboot.
Note: save the copy of avastclear.exe so it can be reused as some users are reporting that after running it, it is self-deleting.
Well the uninstall worked perfectly. I re-installed from scratch and rebooted and Avast started on it’s own. I tried another reboot just to be sure and I had to start Avast manually. Oh well I guess this is the way I need to do it
Just another update. I tried a third reboot and now Avast started with no issue ??? ???
Thanks for the update - glad that it is now working as it should.
