Problem: On trying to create rescue disk (cd option) choose location for iso then 1/2 through a message pops up rescue disk could not be created…
My setup: windows 8.1 fresh install with avast installed from internet with small download file that then pulls other files down, then 2 times installed via ninite installer - no install errors mentioned. Tosh p750 laptop.
My diagnosis:
Missing cab files 690b8a…ea.cab & eacac…3b5.cab - exists but have 0 bytes
Can anyone here suggest any solution - have others had this problems - reading these forums it is mentioned a couple of times.
READ below for grumbles about appalling support telephone service experience:
As above Windows PE x86 x64 wims-x86_en-us.msi complains of missing cab files: rang support line and first time they hang up and the second time they argued that the rescue disk is not part of avast pro antivirus but a seperate disk that is sent out in the mail - EXCUSE ME support? I think not?
I was told to create a ticket:

As has been explained many (and I really mean many) times before, the phone support is not from avast but a third party.
And the only thing they are trying to do is selling you a “support deal”.
They hardly can find the power button on a system
with small download file that then pulls other files down
What do you mean with this ? A download manager ?
then 2 times installed via ninite installer
Ninite is not for downloading/creating the avast resque disk.
