Avast Premier - Web Shield blocking all websites

Hello, I have Avast Premier, and the Web Shield is blocking all websites accept for youtube and google.

I have already update the software version 18.6.2349 build 18.1.3800.0
I only have access to internet if I torn off the web shield

This is really frustrated, I have been trying to fix this problem for over 5 hrs on my Sunday, to finally find out that the problem is with protection software, this just made me lost a lot of trust on this company, I pay for quality and protection, but if I cant use internet, why would I need Antivirus ?

  • OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
  • Other security related software installed…?
  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

Hi, I have been using Avast Premier for the past few years, and this is my only antivirus

Win Pro 64 bit
version 1709
os build 16299.248

  1. Download Avast Premier Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premier_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
  2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

Hello Ricardo007,

Reinstall guide from Asyn should help.
But before you reinstall, could you please check and post here the file versions of the following files?

  • “C:\Windows\System32\drivers\aswStm.sys”
  • “C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\aswStreamFilter.dll”

Thank you,
Filip

Hi Filip Braun
I cant find out how to post files here, but I made a copy of it, so can you guide me on how to post it ?

Hope this helps. For aswStm.sys go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers
