avast premier wont allow my game console to connect

every time i try to connect my ps3 console via ethernet, avast blocks it. but when i disable the firewall component of avast, suddenly i’m able to connect to the internet via ethernet. how do i fix this? this is getting really annoying. i don’t wanna have to permanently disable the firewall of avast. - i’d rather leave avast altogether and find another protection software before that happens.

edit: i’m able to obtain an ip address but it wont connect to the internet because of avast’s firewall.

Whilst I don’t use the avast firewall.
What setting/location do you have the firewall Private or Public ?

I’ve tried putting it on private and public. but it was initially on public because i felt like public option somehow gave it more security. thanks 4 trying to help me.
