Hello guys. On the last few days, my Avast antivirus keeps on popping up randomly. At first, only the loading screen, then suddenly, it keeps on popping up randomly, even when I am playing any video games! It’s so annoying. However, I am in silent mode. Can anyone help me to fix this problem?
Nobody knows what’s causing this, nor how to fix it.
A “fix” for it interrupting your game would be to just have the blasted Avast window open already.
Hopefully they’ll fix this glitch soon…
I have 3 PCs running Avast Premium Security and the last few days the “This computer is protected” screen keeps popping on all 3. I have no scheduled scans.
It seems like a common problem. Avast - developers - get a bug! The word “Annoying” is too little said.
It is bad enough that there are so many programs that are being offered, rather than offering one useful utility.
And now the incessant advertising - that is, what it is, just to bring our attention to Avast and buy more and more of their software.
It is as if it was a free utility with built-in advertising.
It is disgusting and unless it is fixed quickly, I shall ask for my money back and use something else.
I hate this but glad its not something I set up wrong!
There were far too many popups before, battery degrading, latest driver, x slowing your system. This latest nonsense is a spam too far. If it’s not fixed in a week or two I’ll be cancelling my subscription.
I have been getting the same pop ups since upgrading to 20.7.2425 also. It’s annoying as hell. Avast please come up with a fix tot his bug soon or I will be cancelling my subscription.
Well this isn’t really a bug with the advertising part of the program.
For some reason, whenever the virus definitions gets updated, it’s opening the program itself.
Try leaving the program window open in the background(just minimized) and see if that stops the intrusion issue, at least.

This is unbelievably annoying and intrusive. I have been getting the same large popup from Avast over and over. I finally turned on silent mode and turned of all popups, alerts, and messages. Now I am getting a repeated popup, also covering almost the whole screen, that tells me silent mode is on. Come on Avast! Fix this! Only solution I have seen anywhere is to uninstall Avast.

Currently I’m not experiencing this (Avast Free), but my build is xx.598. This is probably the same for most users, so I would suggest a system restart (to apply it) and see if this minor build update does have a bug fix.
Same here. I think it is caused by a message that keeps being unread. In the popup, in the upper right corner you have “Meldingen” (Dutch) or something like “Messages” in English version. In my app it has one unread message. When I open it, I see the warning “stille modus is ingeschakeld” (silence modus is switched on). When I close the tab, the message is still unread. My guess is that the popup keeps appearing because of this unread message.

I am using avast premium security with the same build, and I am not experiencing any of this issue either.
I called tech support and they told me to reinstall Avast - pretty lame suggestion but better than turn it off, count to ten and reboot!
The most ironic part of this bug is that when the app opens it blasts SILENT MODE IS TURNED ON into my eyes :o

Having the same problem on 2 machines. This needs to be fixed or I am going with Norton.
