After Avast updated itself on my PC yesterday to 2015, a website that I use with a streaming monitor no longer works. It says that it is being blocked by my antivirus program. I have added website urls into the exclusions but not resolved the issue.
My other issue, more worrying, is that I called the Avast support line. The lady (Cindy) completely ignored the issue I had, asked for remote access of my PC, told me that I had serious infections etc and tried to sell me a service to clean it all up for £179.99. Absolute disgrace!
Can anyone here help with the java problem. Many Thanks
What os/sp?
What exact version of avast?
Any other security (related) software installed (or had in the past)?
What do you mean with “streaming monitor”?
What url(s) is(are) blocked?
The problem only occurred immediately after Avast upgraded to 2015 version. My Java application is up to date (Version 7 Update 71) and I have had no previous issues.
As said before, the problem began immediately after the 2015 upgrade. If I disabled Avast it worked fine. I uninstalled and then re-installed Avast 2015 - still the same issue.
I have now rolled back to 2014 and all OK.
The common denominator is that it doesn’t work with Avast 2015.
As I have now rolled back to Avast 2014, I cannot tell you anything more than Avast Antivirus Pro 2015
I have no problem loading the advfn website. As a registered member, I have a monitor streaming live, real-time share prices. That is the bit not working. The monitor fails to load as java has been blocked.
I don’t have a account there.
If you login to that site, are you on a https site?
If so, I suspect that it is the ssl scanning in avast 2015 that is blocking it.
I can say for sure that avast 2015 is not blocking java.
