For some days i ve installed ,under XP SP3 ,Avast Pro 5.0.396 just to see how is Pro versus the free version.
Now i think i have found a bug.
After few days decided to stay with some of the modules only ,so went to Add/Remove and chose Change to stay only with File ,Web Network and Script shields ,disableing Behaviour and Virtualization modules from the Change interface(the other shields ,P2P ,IM were not installed from the first time with the build).
Now ,after i ve changed the modules and ticked only File ,Web ,Network and Script shields to be active ,i was asked to restart. After restart ,without checking the present modules in Avast interface , i ve right clicked taskbar icon for update program for Avast ,it updated something asked for restart.Went back in Windows and now for curiosity i ve checked the modules present in the interface and bam ,Virtualization was still there.
For the experimenting purposes went again to Add/Remove ,Change → unchecked Virtualization again (it was sitting there checked ) and restarted. This time looked in the Avast interface and the Virtualization was there along with the others ,in the Avast interface. For curiosity right clicked a desktop icon to see if the contextual menu option for the avast virtualization was present ,it wasnt in the menu.
Updated again via update program option asked for restart ,restarted .After restart checked the interface Virtualization was present .Checked again for the contextual menu at desktop right click and the virtualization option appeared now.
So the conclusion is that Virtualization can t be removed in case someone wants to .The option may disapear from contextual menu but is still there in the Avast interface.
Bug or feature ?
