Hello everybody,
After an installation of avast pro on a windows NT 4 workstation,
the computer refuse to log in. It seems to be blocked after connection
screen and nothing happen.
Maybe someone can help me to solve this problem…
Thank you very much
Best regards
Are you using any other antivirus? Other security program?
If you boot in Safe Mode, can you uninstall avast from there?

Hello
No. I’m not using any other antivirus program.
I don’t know if it is possible to have a safe mode in nt 4 operating system.
Thank you

Hello again,
Using nt4 safe mode (vga mode) is the same.
The computer doesn’t want to boot.
Best regards
Did you use in the past? Norton? Kaspersky?
It’s strange… not an error message? just the system freeze?

hello,
no error message, not really freezed because i can move mouse pointer
but nothing append after user identification like if computer was waiting for something.
The problem is the same in vga mode.
So i wonder if I boot with a floppy and manually delete all the files of avast! folder it is going to may be solve the problem because I don’t think about any other solution…
Best regards

avast! is not loaded in Safe Mode - so if the problem occurs even in that case, I don’t think it has anything to do with avast!..

Hello
A new information… There was kaspersky before avast installation.
It was well uninstalled but there’s may be a relation between kaspersky and avast!
If someone have informations about this, please let me know
Best regards

AFAIK there’s no SAFE MODE in NT4 (just the VGA mode - which differs from the normal mode only in not loading the graphic card drivers)…
Is the boot-drive formatted as NTFS?
