avast! Pro blocking Xerox Scanner software

My customer told me avast! Pro was blocking their Xerox scanner from functioning. The Xerox people had her “disable” avast! protection for 1 hr, and it worked. They said it was a firewall issue. avast! Pro has no firewall. I found that avast! was expired, and applied the license file, which caused an immediate avast! update, and the scanner now worked with avast! enabled (no reboot required). This is just a note that avast!, when expired, has some reactions that I wouldn’t normally attribute to an anti-virus program.
