I setup a password but forgot and unable to access the application. Any way to reset the same.

No, you’ve to reinstall it.

I tried that as well. Its asking for a password to uninstall. I am not sure i had already reinstalled but still the password persist in the system.

Do you have Pro or IS…?? Pick the right one in point 1.

  1. Download avast! Pro Antivirus: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_pro_antivirus_setup.exe
  2. Download avast! Internet Security: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
  3. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
  4. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  5. Reboot.
