AVAST PRO LICENSE (UNABLE TO OPEN FILE!)

Hi All,
I’ve just bought AVAST Pro license. However, when I tried to open the license attachment, which was sent in the mail, it wouldn’t open as it was/had un unknown protocol!-dll format!!So, I am stuck without being able to open or copy the license No. I managed to copy the license ID…but this alone doesn’t help! Could someone please help or give any advice as to how I could open/ access my license No.file

Save the file to your disk and double click it.
Keep a backup of the file :wink:

I’ve now already saved the file both on my “C” & “D” sections in the HD & on a USB stick.Yet every time I try to open from any of these locations the following messge pops up,& I quote"

[b]Adobe reader cannot open “license”(1) avastlic because it is either not a supported file or the file has been damaged:For example, it was sent as an e-mail attachment and wasn’t properly decoded" [b]unquote

Any suggestion which protocol would open this?

My problem is I cannot open the license which was sent as an e-mail attachment. (in a different format!) I cannot understand, why it could not be sent as a PDF file which would have enabled me to open it without all these problems!

It is not an Adobe file. Your computer has non-default file associations :cry:
The format of the file can’t be a pdf file…

Go to avast > Maintenance > Subscription > Insert license key

Alternative method for inserting the license file into avast! Pro Antivirus 7.x

The alternative procedure may be useful if you experience some problems with the previous method, e.g. if the *.avastlic file extension isn’t associated with avast! Pro Antivirus 7.x but with another software application in your system environment, etc.

SOLVED!
I opened the attachment as HTML file & presto it all appeared!Then just copying the license No. it installed the program. However, it showed the download as only as a “trial program”! I then had to go to the AVAST summary page in update to the current version etc. Now it it is working as it should be.

I think many like me, may have experienced similar problems! I sincerely hope that AVAST would make installation simplar & not so “cryptic” as I’ve experienced.
