Yes, you read that right. I have a 10-user Avast Pro license. On any (and as far as I can tell EVERY) computer that I put my license on … after 1-48 hours, it spontaneously upgrades itself to Avast Premier and shows a subscription belonging to a completely different person (email and account #).
This is happening on Windows 7 and at least 2 XP machines. I even put this license on a clean installation of Windows that never had avast before. The ONLY license it has ever seen is mine. A day later, it has upgraded to Premier using someone else’s license. WTF?
Also, when I re-insert my Pro license on a PC with the Premier, it does indeed downgrade but comes back to someone else’s premier version later. This is just unbelievable. This wouldn’t be such an urgent matter except the Premier firewall is blocking sh!t on my network and I can not have the firewall (hate it).
After I revert to Pro, I search for all files (*.avastlic) and it only finds my license (as it should). This is happening on different computers on different networks at different physical locations. So, it must be pulling this other license over the internet.
I have written to customer support but no reply yet.
Yes there is indeed a 10-user consumer Avast Pro edition. Been using (and upgrading) it for years. It’s probably my mistake to make any reference to business support. I use it for business but this is definitely the Avast consumer product. Here’s a portion of my license culled from notepad:
The ticket ID is not a number for consumer support unless the OP made a typo.
Consumer ticket numbers have 6 numbers, not 5 (unless they are really old)
Thanks for the link to opening a ticket on a consumer product.
I made a video for them. Here’s a link if you want to take a look. Sorry it’s not the best quality but it clearly shows my problem. Never seen anything like it.
