Avast Pro - Web Protection

Hi,
Our employees are using Avast Pro/Free as software antivirus.
While they’re using our CRM program, they often encounter the error “HTTP error code 401” and the program is quite slow in some procedures.
Trying to identify the problem, i noticed that disabling the Web Protection solve the problem. So i enabled it again and try to manage the global exception and the exception in the web protection adding the URL used by the application and the installation folder but we have still same problem. I tried to add the exception to File System Protection too but not solving yet.
Then, with the protection levels activated, i’ve disable all the features in each protection level (file system, web, scripts) but the proble is still present.
I’m afraid that Avast has a problem with the exception management. We already asked to the support of the application, but they weren’t able to find a solution yet, since the problem is present with this antivirus only.

1 - Could someone give me an advice on the protection\exception configuration?
2 - Is possible to keep the Web Protection disabled without or with small security risks?

For the test, i have installed the last version released

Thanks for any information

Regards

Free is “not” for use in a business. If you have enough employees look here http://www.avast.com/business

If you are using Pro make the proper exclusions in the Web, File and, Behavior Shields.

i already test it with Avast Pro (trial version) but the problem is still present.
I tried to enable the Web protection and disable ALL the option in the Web protection settings and adding ALL the possible exclusions about the software (directories and urls) but the slowness is still present.
If i disable the entire Web protection, it works fine.

Try a clean install. If you are in a business or corporate environment use this link http://www.avast.com/business

If you are a home user for personal use…

  1. download and save http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
  2. download and save your choice from http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=123563.msg937973#msg937973
  3. run uninstaller from step #1 (you will be prompted to reboot into safe mode, do so)
  4. reboot into normal mode
  5. install choice from step #2
  6. reboot and register/purchase
