Avast Professional does not detect EICAR TXT virus test file

Not a big deal but it does look bad considering other AV vendor detect this properly as EICAR test virus. Here is the URL http://www.eicar.org/download/eicar.com.txt

Yes, i seams to detect the virus when manually scan the file, but i does not detect it when.

  1. Click and download on the web URL
  2. Launch the text file

Sure, because it’s ridiculous to detect a text file.
But if you feel like you really need it:

  1. Delete TEXT/PLAIN (and maybe also TEXT/CSS) from WebShield settings / Exceptions / MIME Types to Exclude
  2. Enter TXT into StandardShield settings / Advanced / Scan files on open / Scan files with these extensions
