Could someone please describe the Script Blocker feature in more detail than the web site provides? For example, does it watch for potentially malicious .BAT and .CMD files?
No. Script Blocker is watching only WSH subsystem (Windows Scripting Host).
Standrad Shield will take care of malicious CMD and BAT files if any encountered.
Yes, but only if they are known malware. I was hoping that someone had thought to handle malicious commands in batch scripts, the same way is currently done for VBS and other scripts (i.e. proactively, without need for individual signatures).
Thanks for the reply.
I know what you mean. No, no heuristic recognition. Though they use several generic detections for various script/batch files. Can’t say for sue how wide range of malware can they cover with it. But cmd feed commands aren’t really that popular anyway so no need to worry too much about them.
Welcome to the forums, snarky.
I hope RejZoR’s posts have helped you.
Please come back often, learn more, and maybe help others.
Yeah :-
avast! does not offer proactive protection :-\
