Avast professional edition upgrade

Hi… I bought one year license of avast professional edition and I’ve inserted the registration key on my registered 4.8 home edition. Everything looks good but I still have the information that the version that is running is the 4.8 Home Edition. Can anyone tell me what’s wrong?

Did you try to restart the computer?
What does the about box show?
Can you switch to the Enhanced User Interface, for example?

The build in needed. Is it 4.8.1290 ?

Run ashEnhcd.exe from avast folder.

Build: Jul2008(4.8.1229)

ashEnhcd? there isn’t such file on avast folder :-[

ashEnhcd.exe is always present in avast Pro installations.
If you don’t have this file, you seem to be using the Home (free) version (yet)…

Also, the latest is 4.8.1290

did you already perform a program-update?

usually the pro-files are downloaded automatically then…

I’ve done all that but it still remains on Home Edition version… >:(

I suggest an installation from the scratch:

  1. Uninstall avast from Control Panel first.
  2. Boot.
  3. Download the latest version of Avast Uninstall and use it for complete uninstallation.
  4. Boot.
  5. Install again the latest avast! version.
  6. Boot.
  7. Check and post the results.

I’ve done it! Uninstalled Home Edition version; installed AvastPro trial version; insert the license key and all seems right! Thank’s guys!!! :slight_smile:
