Running avast 12.2.2276 on Windows 10-64bit. Last night I did the Anniversary update and all went well (thankfully) but now I’m seeing that avast’s “scan for outdated software” is proposing to upgrade Internet Explorer to version 11.306.10586.0 (which is newer than the version installed). Is anyone else seeing this?
Yes, I also have this exact issue. No update for IE11 available in Windows Updates. Secunia is telling me I have the latest version of IE11. Is this a false positive? Any idea when Avast will fix this?
After two consecutive days of BSOD crashes after the last avast update (8/19) this was small potatoes. I uninstalled the product. If I go for a week without further BSODs, I’ll just depend on Windows Defender and MBAM, which is somewhat annoying since I paid for a subscription…but nothing is worth BSODs every day.
no other security software installed … the issue occurs since the win10 anniversary update …
system 1: microsoft surface book
system 2: own-build system
installed software (same on both systems): microsoft office 2013, opera, firefox, thunderbird, filezilla, pdfcreator, pdfxchange, skype, vlc media player (all up to date)
Are you using the latest version ??? https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=189836.0 and,
most importantly the latest VPS update 160822-1 ???
To update your VPS, right click the Avast icon in the system tray, Select Update then select Engine and virus definitions.
Reboot when done.

Thank you for reporting and sorry for the late answer. Yes, Internet Explorer update handling in Software Updater was fixed.
