360 Internet Security is on my computer but not on the list above.
bc you dont see the hole picture… http://www.av-test.org/en/tests/home-user/windows-8/novdec-2013/
anyway, this test has been posted already … those who search the forum will see
The picture shows that 360 Internet Security provides better protection than avast, should I uninstall the latter in favour of the former?
At the end of the day it is your choice, I have been using Avast since 4.something (before webshield) and I have had zero infections. So for myself I am quite happy and tend to ignore these surveys
your computer…your choice. teenagers seems to reinstall evrytime they see a test with a new AV on top.
detection will change from day to day.
daily statistic. https://www.shadowserver.org/wiki/pmwiki.php/AV/VirusDailyStats
week. https://www.shadowserver.org/wiki/pmwiki.php/AV/VirusWeeklyStats
90 day. https://www.shadowserver.org/wiki/pmwiki.php/AV/Virus90-DayStats
How long approximately?
I am not a teenager but as ignorant as such when it comes to AV, so I want advice on the choice.
latest 4 version (4.8.1368) was released Nov 2009 … the oldest i find is 4.5.549 from Dec 2004
so I want advice on the choice.find and install the AV you like ..... and dont install multiple AV. if you want a extra scanner, Malwarebytes is highly recomended. www.malwarebytes.org also recomended is MCShield USB protector. www.mcshield.net
Just checking it would have been towards the end of 2004 so that is 10 years now. Sometimes in my research I go to the darkside
Multiple AV have been on my computer for 3 days but not running simultaneously, so far no problem has arisen.
I will take it into account.
Not good…it will and you may not like the results of the conflict.
Your decision but I’d uninstall all but one of your choice…and not just uninstall but clean: http://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB11#artTitle
What will be the possible results? Blue screen?
Blue Screen, slowdown, system errors, false positives…
if those happen, I will uninstall 360.
There is also the strong possibility that having more than one antivirus installed may not allow any of them to do their job, allowing a virus to slip past all the antivirus programs while they are fighting with each other trying to scan the file/web connection. The truth is that with more than one antivirus installed you wind up with less protection.
Yes, over ten years of using avast (also avast 4.3 or 4.5 I think) and we have poked our noses into a few places investigation peoples issues and not a single infection.
I too tend to follow my personal day to day experiences, than read every review, etc.
The fact that some reviews can’t or don’t replicate real life use also creates a misconception.
I also don’t pay attention to those results, been using Avast since 2005 almost straight thru, I will admit did try MSE on other PC’s for a while, but came back to Avast as it offers the best protection, plus performance of any other product I ever used on the Computers around the household. In fact soon as I can get me an Android Cell phone, installing Avast mobile security as my first app install, but might be another year before I can do that. As still in contract with at&t and Windows Phone right now
I reiterate that they never run simultaneously
Then how many detected viruses have you had?
For myself I have had zero infections, but quite a few websites blocked
Zero infections = zero detection, correct?
