Two days before, Avast suddenly quarantined LoL launcher when I was trying to play the game. I am sorry that I do not have the exact wording of the message, but Avast thought it was infected by Win32:Evo-gen [Susp] . The path to the file was C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_launcher\releases\0.0.1.17\deploy\LoLLauncher.exe .
I went to the quarantine and told Avast to scan this file. No viruses found. (??)
I promptly reported this file as a false positive. Too bad I errorneusly typed the version of the program in the form. I typed 0.0.1.17, while I should probably type in the current version of LoL, and not of the launcher. Hope it doesn’t matter much.
Did a full scan of my PC with Avast. Nothing found. Did a scan with http://www.kaspersky.pl/security-scan . No viruses found.
Today I checked VirusTotal. According to VT, no AV - not even Avast - says that file is infected.
I’ve unquarantined the file and tried playing LoL. This time, Avast didn’t complain, even though I had not added this file to exceptions.
My question is - may I assume it was a false positive, or should I think I am really infected? Thanks in advance.
