I have both a desktop computer and laptop computer system and was wondering which system I should put my copy of AVAST PRO 4.1 on?
Any reason you can’t do both? While I’m on the Home version, if I understand correctly your license for Pro can be used on whatever home computers you’ve got.
Probably on the PC you use most?
Or on the PC that is the most powerful?
I’m not sure but I thought the Pro license is limited to one computer only… Can anybody confirm if I’m wrong?
If we can, I’ll put the Pro version in my laptop too ;D
Generally, I think it will be better to protect your most ‘important’ computer (files, configurations, etc.). It’s up to you. The Pro version will give you more protection on web contents (Script Blocking) 8)
Hey Technical,
I thought the same thing as you that the license is for one computer. I’ll wait to hear from some one at avast or another forum member that knows the answer. Thanks for the help in advance.
I had to do some hunting on the site, but the closest answer I could find is in the price list, here. So it looks like it depends how many machines you bought the license for – there’s a sliding scale of pricing depending on quantity. Cheapest (total, that is, not per machine) is for one computer, and I imagine that’s what the majority of home users got.
So I stand – er, sit – corrected.
Yeah, sure, just like with virtually any other commercial software, avast! Pro is licensed per computer…
To answer your original question, Radicalb21, it very much depends on how you use these machines. I’d install on the machine I use most of the time - in my case the notebook…

Thanks VLK.
I suppose you can detect the ‘second’ installation at the update proccess, otherwise, you know ;D
I have already offered some ‘thinking’ about activation but you do not want
