Avast randomly disconnecting internet Windows 10?

I have Avast Free on Windows 10. From time to time, my wi-fi randomly disconnects for an uncertain amount of time. For this time, webpages say “server DNS address could not be found”.

Sometimes, logs are created. I’ve recorded 2 logs that were written when the internet disconnected.

Why is this happening? Is Avast the cause of my random internet disconnects? I just saw today that there were identical logs of other things, so I don’t know anymore. I have had problems with Avast blocking my entire internet before on another computer however. If it’s not Avast, what is it?

Do the disconnections also take place if you connect through wire ?

I don’t know, I don’t have any wires. I’m using a laptop.

A laptop can also use a wired connection
Try it and see if you are still experiencing internet disconnections.

I mean, I don’t have any wires to connect my laptop with. I lost them a long time ago

They are pretty cheap you can get them on-line (Amazon, Ebay, etc.) and delivered in a few days. It may resolve that issue, but possibly more useful connection and download speeds are generally faster.

Is there any other way? I want to be able to use wi-fi.

I use wifi on my netbook and I rarely get wifi drop outs (generally this is in my home so not a great distance to the hub/router), that however is on a win7 OS not win10.

Try other Wifi channels and see if it still happens.
It can be interference.

I’ll try that, thanks. It hasn’t happened yet today, so I’ll just have to wait and see then.

I can’t seem to change my wi-fi channel. Clicking save settings after changing it, loads for a little while, but in the end doesn’t change the channel no matter what I set it to.

You did try to set a channel on the router ?

I wonder if this might help http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/network-wifi/how-change-wi-fi-channel-3325316/.

That’s what I did.

Make sure you save the settings
Is what it's not doing. It's saving, but the channel doesn't change.
