Avast REFUSES to update!!!

If you haven’t registered and the trial period has expired, it has a lot to do with updates, you won’t get any.

Have you tried the avast repair that I suggested ?
If so and it still doesn’t work I suggest you start your own new topic so as not to complicate this one.

The TRIAL period has not expired!! this is a NEW install thus it WILL update automatically assuming the program is working correctly, look, everybody on this forum who has ever installed avast knows damn well that the first thing the program does is ( AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE ) regardless of if you have registered yet. I am not going to argue this point anymore!!

Yes, and if it is not the first time you’re installing the trial or the installation is corrupt or if the version is not registered, then the automatic update fails…

  1. Do you still have IObit360 and Weatherbug on your system? Did you ever follow through with your JS: Downloader-ABY [Trj] removal in the past (Aug. 2010)?

  2. Have you scanned with Avast or SAS, which you have your machine, for malware to see if this is causing your problem. BTW, IOBit and weatherbug could be causing conflicts with Avast as we have seen with other users on the forum.

  3. Are you using any other security programs that we don’t know about currently or in the past? Remnants can cause conflicts with other security software like Avast.
