ok… i downloaded avast4 home a few weeks ago, installed it, did a startup scan, and deleted all virii, trojans and worms… had system problems afterwards, so i backed up, did a full re-install and re-downloaded avast4.
it worked fine, until i registered, at which point it told me the registration code was old, and refused to download updates… i’m using XP pro sp1 on a P4 2.6ghz with 512 mb ram and 80 gb HD… little help?
Did you requested a new key?
Did you reinstall the os or did you do a clean install?
i backed up all my software, reformatted the hard drive and installed the system from scratch… downloaded avast, and requested a new key… it was working until i entered the key, now it won’t update :(.
Looks like somehow the key wasn’t correct. Have you tried to get another one and tested it with that key?
i just checked my past emails, and i did register for a new key, but they sent the same one… currently waiting for a NEW key. 
got the new key, and the problem seems to be fixed. Thanks. weird tho.
Don’t you happen to have incorrectly set the system clock?
Like a one year shift? (year 2005).

nah, it was fine… problem’s been solved now though… was strange that avast would send me an incorrect key though.

I doubt it’s invalid, it must’ve been something else.
