I have Vista and I like that I can return my computer to a recent restore point if it starts giving trouble (like after a download, etc.). However, I assume that it also removes whatever new virus definition(s) Avast has installed since my restore point.
Question, will Avast detect that the installation of the virus def has been undone and reinstall it?
Windows restore does not affect avast updates, as far I know.
But, if it changes, avast will detect the outdated signature file and will update it IF you set the updates in the automatic mode (not manual).
Thanks, Tech! Avast automatically installs new virus defs on my pc so, if I understand you right, it will detect the loss of recent updates and reinstall them, if indeed the restore got rid of them. Glad to hear that.
Yes, it will. Updating you will get the latest version any time, even if you ‘lose’ an intermediate update. avast brings the installation up-to-date all the time.
