The questions I have are centered on Avast Reporting functionality.
I find the reporting functionality of Avast lacking. However, I’m not an expert with Avast yet but getting better every day. We are still using v4.8 of Avast. Are server run Windows 2003, Windows 2003 SBE and Windows 2008. The workstations are a mix of XP, Vista and 7.
We have Avast set to send out PDF reports every day from our clients to see what actions Avast has taken on our network. The Virus Infection Summary and Virus Action Summary reports are the only way I have found to view what has taken place.
The Virus Infection Summary shows virus name, date and time, action taken along with the machine name and the Virus Action Summary shows the action taken. The other piece of information that would be helpful is the service that found the virus. Is there any way I can extract this information rather than a daily report? As far as I can tell you have to look at multiple reports to see all of this information.
We have alerting setup but it only shows what was found, machine name and the service that found the virus. This is a pain to look at different reports for many different clients for this information which seems very limiting.
We use Kaseya as our management platform to manage our client networks. Kaseya can alert on anything that is placed in the Event Viewer Logs. It would be tremendously beneficial to be able to use Kaseya for reporting and alerting rather than Avast daily reports. Avast has an Event Viewer log but it doesn’t have all of the information I need. Is there a way to have Avast report everything to the Event Viewer Antivirus log?
Any information someone can provide would be much appreciated.
