Avast reports my app Keepass2Android as malware!

Today, users of my app Keepass2Android (https://keepass2android.codeplex.com/) started to complain that Avast was reporting the app as Malware. I received 1star ratings on Google Play and messages that people uninstalled the app. I am not really amused.

The app is Open Source, so please verify it’s no malware!

The apk might be hard to analyze because it uses Mono for Android combined with a few Java modules and even some native code (for speed up of the key transformations).

Please fix this bug as soon as possible! Is there anything I can do avoid this false positive??
When will this be resolved?

I’m new to the forum myself, but I found this http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php as a place to report false positives in software. The form made me choose to report a false positive in either a file or website - I said website and linked to the google play store entry for the app that was failing. Since you are the app developer, I’m sure you have the actual file handy and could upload the executable

Good luck! False positives are very annoying.

Hello folks,
it was false positive and it will be fixed in next update.
Thank you & best regards

How long will that take? I’m loosing users every hour!

My guess is around 6-8 hours until it’s delivered to majority of the clients.
