well, I see bunch of these threads, so you know what’s the problem…every few seconds Avast warning pops up, and it’s annoying. I know these type of viruses are pain in the… to solve, so I’d just reboot the whole system, but don’t have DvD reader in my laptop, so I’m doing it the hard way…
Will post screenshot of the warning when it pops up again, but basically it’s just some malicious website, every time different, with URL:Mal warning, and it’s Moved to chest or something like it.
CCleaner didn’t help, boot time scan, and normal scan failed too, didn’t bother to try anything else until I get some professional support. Never had, for 20 years of using PC this type of problem, so I have no experience in virus seek and destroy action…
Help…Already got ignored on Geektogo.com, I hope you guys will do something. I know there is a bunch of threads about this, but I’ve read that solution is different for every PC, or am I mistaken?

In the meantime, while sitting helplessly waiting for someone to notice this, I’ve scanned everything with Malwarebytes and the others that are mentioned in “Logs to assist in cleaning…”

Sooo yeah, do to the 4 attachments restrictions, I’ve removed the screenshots and I’ve added the logs. Hope someone will help soon
Re-install Chrome
Unless you did this yourself, malware has changed your Chrome version into the Development Build. Among other things this allows malware to install any extension it wants. We need to resolve this.
- If you have bookmarks, let’s save them by exporting them - Export Bookmarks
- Then I need you to go Google Sync and sign into your account
- Scroll down until you see the “Stop and Clear” button and click on the button. At the prompt click on “Ok”
- Now we need to uninstall chrome.
Note: When asked about user data or settings you must remove this also so please check the box.
- Restart the computer and reinstall chrome, You can download The latest version from here - Google Chrome
- Import your bookmarks back into Chrome
- Sign back in to your Chrome browser so that your bookmarks sync with your online account.

Did all that…
No alerts so far, but when I uninstalled Chrome, my laptop went bananas. It’s slowed down so much that I had to force shutdown, and when it restored, Avast! was disabled along with my Windows Defender. And I couldn’t turn them on, nothing helped. When the laptop restarted after fixing, everything was ok, but still my laptop is 30% slower then it should be.
Also, I’ve noticed in Malwarebytes log that it has detected some kind of Trojan. Any need to worry about that or did all this fix that too?
Will run a boot-time scan and quarantine because I believe that this PC is infected beyond saving. I got it from a friend who didn’t have any kind of AV installed, and PC is 3 months old, so I think that I have much more work,
but this URL:Mal problem has been fixed, at least I think, no Avast warnings so far. But I’m worried about Trojan mentioned above ^
Why do you believe it is beyond saving ? Between FRST and AdwCleaner the vast majority has now gone
Could you now run a fresh FRST scan and let me know what problems you are seeing

No problems occurred so far, but as I’ve stated above, I’m worried about that Trojan MalwareByte detected. It’s in the log in my first post.
If you re-run MBAM you will find the Trojan no longer evident…

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

I would recommend that you completely uninstall Java unless you need it to run an important software.
In that instance I would recommend that you disable Java in your browsers until you need it for that software and then enable it. (See How to diasble Java in your web browser and How to unplug Java from the browser)
If you do need to keep Java then download JavaRa
Run the programme and select Remove Java Runtime. Uninstall all versions of Java present
Once done then run it again and select Update Java runtime > Download and install Latest version
