I recently called Avast with a technical question. The only way Avast would agree to even talk about it is if I purchased Technical Support. The cost was $100 plus for one time. To suggest that is outrageous is an understatement
I can’t find anywhere in my purchase docs any reference to this practice. I am frequently asked by friends and family about what AV to use. I will strongly recommend against even considering Avast and will let them know about this pricing. I will also go to security review sites.
Avast should be aware that they are not the only game in town and many of the other games are at least as good.
