Hi all,
I am forced to run McAfee Professional Edition on my machine and I would like to know whether it is ok to run Avast as well.
I’ve heard it is not a good idea to run 2 antiviruses at the same time.

Unfortunatly you can not run avast! as well as McAfee as they will conflict.

Is it possible to disable it on startup then and keep it for on demand scan?
They conflict as the drivers are loaded at system boot up.
They have even removed their on-line scan:

you misunderstood. I don’t want to disable McAfee - as I said previously I am forced to use it and it can not be disabled.
But since I can’t use avast at the same time I want to disable that and use it on demand.
Is this possible?

From what I have read is that you can not have 2 anti virus applications on the same system.
