Avast running twice

I updated my program yesterday as it indicated one was available when I went into UPDATE to update my definitions.

Now, when I go to task manager I see that AvastUI.exe *32 is running twice. In other words, the task manager indicates that there are two identical programs running and both of them are AvastUI.exe *32

I have Avast Internet Security valid 11/11/2015 Bronze program version 2015.10.2.2214. I am using Windows 7 on a HP laptop.

How do I get this program to run only one program?

As has been explained in other threads this is how avast is working now.

Thanks for the response. I guess this running twice is the new normal.

I generally dont search forums because one has to wade through so much noise before finding the needed answer.

Does the AvastVboxSV process have anything to do with the new update (with the way there are two avastui processes running at the same time now) ?

No.

Why is the process running? I haven’t noticed it before I updated to the newest version.
