Avast Safari and Comcast

So…

I am on an iMac (10.13.5). Recently switched from Chrome to Safari (I know, surprised me too). Switched from Avast Secureline VPN to a competitor (but not connected while doing this). Running current version of Avast Mac Security.

Been changing some stuff and added a new Comcast/Xfinity modem. Had one before, just a newer one.

When I go to the setup page (10.0.0.1) Safari gives me an error about the certificate expiring 1001 days ago. I don’t see anyway of updating the certificate and my system time is correct.

If I disable Avast Web Shield, I can get to the site no problem. No messages, no warnings.

When AWS is enabled, I can select trust certificate and Safari will prompt me for my password. I can see the certificate go into the Keychain, but it still won’t connect.

What is going on? Why can’t I connect to a local device?

I added this to the AWS exclusion list both in http and https (even though its https) but nothing.

I’d appreciate the assistance. Thanks.

And as soon as I post that, it seems to now work. I am going to leave this posted anyway because it is something I have been struggling with.

And its not working again. I have to disable web shield in order to connect. Would someone from AVAST like to help?

would you mind to send us logs from your computer? Easies way is Avast AV UI > Help menu > Contact technical support > Generate support package.
And please try to restart of your Mac as it may help to resolve the issues as well. Anyway - we are interested in the logs to identify the root cause.

Thank you, Lukas.
