I use Firefox, but when SafeZone opens, it always defaults to Chrome, even though I’ve ticked the box ‘Do not use Chrome as Avast! default browser’. I even took the tick out of the box to try that, but Chrome is always used with SafeZone.
The safezone is completely isolated from your desktop and it uses its own browser, the safezone browser. It is a custom browser based on chromium, it isn’t google chrome.
So the short answer is the safezone can’t use your browser, which is outside the isolated safezone.
Thanks for your reply. Because chromium looks so much like chrome, and chrome is mentioned in the settings, I just presumed that it was chrome. Just goes to show how wrong a person can be!
Hi, i have just received avast safezone and have imported my bookmarks over from firefox… so wondering
do i have to sign up to the link saying: “not signed into safezone browser? …your missing out”
…as when i go to sign in, they ask you to download/install google chrome… but doesn’t say that the
download/install only applies to the safezone browser, it looks like [to me] that it will default to
my main browser as well, hence can you clarify this for us please… also if i just use avast safezone
by itself will it still offer more protection than firefox?.. thanks
I’ve got the same question as the last poster: "do i have to sign up to the link saying: ‘not signed into safezone browser? …your missing out’ ". If I am not logged into Chrome is the Safezone browser still “safe”?
Thanks.
No, you won’t be signing in to anything, SafeZone is not Google Chrome, it is a security tool based off Chromium intended for banking and online shopping.
