Avast Safezone browser -  HOW do i delete it??!!

I have deleted Avast from my PC in order to get rid of Avast Safezone which is a disaster to use. However, despite Avast being uninstalled i am still stuck with Safezone browser. It is driving me INSANE as I cannot search for anything with it. It’s like a freaking virus. I can’t get rid of it. Please help!! Urgent!!

If you can’t search with it, there is something wrong with the installation (or you ;D)

Another way to remove it is doing it manually.
Remove all folders, file, registry entries.

There might well be something wrong with me - i might have finally lost it after trying to get rid of the darn thing for days now

Thanks i’ll try the Avast clear.

Not sure how it can lurk undetected on my machine yet whenever i log onto Mozilla the blooming thing is there.

The SafeZone Browser has nothing to do with Mozilla.

i know it has nothing to do with mozilla, but when i log into Firefox (search engine) instead of Firefox i get Avast safe search. I have tried Avast Clear now, it says it’s unistalled Avast yet Avast safe search still persists.

I have uninstalled Avast now 5x using Avast Clear - even though it cannot be located on my machine when i search for it - and it is still popping up as the search engine when i click on Firefox.
Does ANYONE at avast have the solution? This is worse than a virus and i am fed up now.

That’s why I always uninstall programs with Revo Uninstaller, to make sure programs are gone without leaving annoying remnants, even so I still sometimes find them here and there. Maybe you have remnant Avast add-on, in Firefox Tools - Add-ons? Or try to start browser in safe mode with add-ons disabled - it restores browser to default settings, in Firefox go to about:support - Try safe mode (Restart with add-ons disabled), and see if anything changes.

As you describe your problem, it seems to me that you are suffering from a ( safe search ) browser hijacker :

Maybe you associate it with Avast and/or it appears to be from Avast, but if I am right it is a peace of malware that has to be removed.

Also mention that you think you are suffering from a browser hijacker.

There is the huge clue that it has nothing to do with avast. avast doesn't have a search engine, let alone a safe search.

Norton has a safe search.
Not that I ever will use it as it is powered by Ask.com.
Their browser toolbar is behaving like malware and it comes bundled with what are called (at least) PUP’s.
