How does the Safezone work, i usually use Internet Explorer browser and when i started Safezone it opened what looked like google chrome. Is it better than just using a secure website (https) can’t they stop keyloggers?

The idea of the safezone is to create an isolated desktop that keyloggers, screen scrapers can’t capture your data and everything is isolated inside this safezone.
The browser is based on Chromium, which Google’s Chrome is also based, so it will look like it, but it is a special build for this purpose.
