Avast Sandbox ( Adobe Flashplayer )

If i open my firefox , without sandbox ,and i go to youtube , everything works.

If i open firefox in the Avast sandbox , then it says i have to install adobe flashplayer to watch youtube video’s , but i already have that installed.

How can i fix this problem ?

I have already tried to repair Avast , did not help either.
I have tried to install flashplayer within the Avast sandbox but then i get a error , something with unconsistentsy , its in dutch hard to translate.

I like the idea of a sandbox , but i do want to browse in it without problems.

Tell us about the versions of the mentioned programs.

Sometimes it works , and sometimes it says i need to install Adobe Flash Player 10.3.181.34.

And i use the latest Avast version , 6.0.1125

I have the same problem here. I use firefox 5 and AIS 6.0.1125. When I run FF within avast sandbox sometimes it runs fine but sometimes I cann’t watch any video from web it says you need additional plugins to view this video. At that time if I go to the add-ons section of FF I see that flashplayer plugins are not there. If I run FF outside sandbox than this problem does not exist. My OS is win 7 64 bit Home premium.

Install AFP 10.3.181.34 - it’s the latest version.

i already did , doesnt work , if u restart the browser it asks it again.
or u get a error message if u install it within the Avast sandbox.

My computer is also Windows Home Premium 64-bit.

You can’t install it in the sandbox.
Install both versions of AFP…!! Here’s a link: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=9671.msg660496#msg660496

u mean , Firefox , and non Firefox , i installed both i guess.

i have 2 versions of adobe flashplayer installed , ( active X and a plugin )

The whole year I had the sandbox it did this. Sometimes it would load correctly every launch, but on bad days I would have to retry many times to get the assorted plug-ins to load.

Excluding the plug-ins from being virtualized in the sandboxes settings was the only work-around, if I remember correctly.

So if I exclude plug-ins from being virtualized will I get full benefit of Sandbox or there will be some compromise of security? What I want to ask is that is it safe to exclude plug-ins from being virtualized?

i have everything excluded already , cookies , history , favorites , plugins , everything.

still , i have the problem.

Are you using avast! Pro or IS…??

IS

Install this: http://files.avast.com/files/beta/6.0.1198/setup_ais.exe
Better now…??

well , i have a trial atm , and in 6 days it expires , i’ll wait till it expires and after that i will buy Avast IS.

and what is that link , a special Avast installation or something ?

  1. You can also install it with a trial version.
  2. It’s the latest beta. There are some sandbox related fixes in it.

But it still doesn’t work! Its hit and miss, since the last update even on computers that only run the AV from Avast, I initially thought it had to do with the FW.
