Avast sandbox prevents Internet Explorer, Chrome & Firefox from working

If anyone can offer some advice on this problem I would really appreciate it:

After upgrading to pro a few months ago I found the sandbox very useful for running my web browser(s) and not having to be so careful of accidentally clicking every dodgy page or advert that popped up.

Safezone is also very good and I use it for banking & online business.

Since the upgrade to avast pro every browser has gradually stopped working inside the sandbox, first it was internet explorer grinding to a hault, then firefox and now chrome as well.

IE cannot even open, firefox cannot find the default profile and chrome crashes before it opens.

Now the only way to browse the internet is to use safe zone (Not practical for everything) or to run the browsers outside of sandbox.

Has anyone got any ideas on what could be causing all these problems?

It is strange because browsers worked ok at first.

I haven’t experienced this, but the first thing I would try is to delete the sandbox contents. Go to settings → Tools → Sandbox → Customize → Web Browsers. Go to the Maintenance section and select, Delete Contents.

Thank you charyb, sandbox contents deleted, all browsers now working again!

For reference I am using Windows 8.1 64 bit with all software up to date.

Thanks again, you have been very helpful.

You’re welcome. I’m glad things are working for you.

FWIW I believe you can adjust the sandbox settings to delete contents automatically to suit your needs.
